Filter Plates ::
- Chamber Filter Plates (Recess Type) :
The recess chamber filter elements are the most widely used for any filtration processes with normal dry solids filtration demands. These is little difference than old conventional Plate and Frame type filter plates. These plates have been invented due to application of plastic molding technology for manufacturing of Filter Plates. These type of plates gives higher productivity at low investment.
These type of plates allows center feeding with high rate of feeding rate compare to old plate and frame type filter plates. These higher size feeding nozzle allows fast filtration.
- Plate and Frame Filter Plates :
Plates and Frames are made of light, hygienic, chemical resistance Polypropylene. They are easy to handle and old conventional type as wooden plates were available. Plates and frames are uniquely suited for sticky material where the complete cake is not formed during filtration process . it is also a unique choice where filtration material is very oily and difficult to clean up the filter cloth due to deposition of oily material on the filter cloth during each batch.
The only disadvantage of this plate is having smaller size input of the slurry compare to chamber type filter press. It also has problems of very low rate of slurry feeding due to smaller size hole ( 10 mm ) provided at the entrance of the filtration area. It also requires more more material (Polypropylene) to produce same volume of cake compare to Chamber (Recess type) Filter press.
HEATTRANS Membrane plates are specially designed to reduce moisture content in the cake. Normally the pressure is applied by air. The squeezing pressure is chosen as a function of the application.
This membrane are designed to de water the most difficult sludge and protect the plates against potential cake less chambers. The high pressure membranes were developed for difficult filtration processes. Extreme squeeze pressure are possible due to the combination of the special feed inlet design and selected special materials.
